the last best hope...

...is dead. Yes, they've killed Captain America. It upsets even me, and I've never read a comic book in my life that wasn't old and distinctly somebody else's. I'm not sure what it means, but I'm willing to bet it does not bode well.

I don't know what to say. Needless, however, I am very angry. Very very angry. Especially as he went down protesting the Superhuman Registration Act, which is obviously intended to mirror the Patriot Act. Killing Cap in order to make a (rather roundabout) anti-bush statement. I spit on Marvel.

Is it actually worse than THIS?

I know the name is a more explicit reference to America and all, but isn't Superman more iconically American?

I realize that I run the risk of exposing myself as a bit of a comic neophyte here. But I've always figured that if they were willing to do it to Superman, they could do it to anyone.

(I'm all for spitting on Marvel, though. Such thinly-veiled political commentary is unbecoming. Remind me never to see X-Men III or V for Vendetta again. And if you could figure out a way to travel back in time and convince to never watch them the first time, that'd be fine, too.)
